I was born the only child of Dale & Al Filstrup in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. My father's family, the Filstrups, decended primarily from Denmark. My mother's family, the Schoenbecks, immigrated from Germany.
On May 20, 2000, I married Patricia Martinez. Her family sailed over from Spain in the 15th century.
